A partner of the Government, of Parliament, of the regional Authorities and of local bodies, as well as the rest of the world of institutions and associations, Confesercenti, since it is largely a representative body, participates in hearings, in negotiations and in the signing of agreements between the government and the management and labour sides. Moreover, it participates in parliamentary hearings relating to the passing of the Dpef (Documento di Programmazione Economica e Finanziaria), the Economic and Financial Planning Document, and of the Finance Act and it deals with Parliament and with the Ministries on reforms and on draft laws.

The same role is carried out nationally, through its 20 regional confederations and 105 provincial branches, that discuss and sign agreements with regions and local bodies.
